Does paint protection film turn yellow or crack over time?
Cheap film does. It yellows under UV, stiffens in the cold, and cracks at the edges inside a couple of years. Better film is formulated to stay flexible through the temperature swing and to resist yellowing, and that is most of what the price difference buys you. Installation is the other half of it. If edges are not wrapped and sealed cleanly, water and salt work underneath, and you get lifting and a cloudy line along the seams long before the film itself would have given up. Trimming on the vehicle with a blade instead of a plotted pattern is another way to end up there. Care matters too. Brush tunnels and solvent-heavy cleaners age film fast. If film we installed yellows, bubbles, or cracks, we want to see it. That is not how it is supposed to age.
