Why Fargo drivers choose Car Kings for paint protection film

From downtown to Osgood, Fargo drivers put serious winter miles on their vehicles — road salt, gravel and sub-zero swings are exactly what our services are built to fight.

Car Kings is our home base, so you get a proper paint protection film install without a long haul. Every job is quoted to your exact vehicle — you’ll get a fast, free quote before any work begins.

What Fargo drivers get

  • Rock chip protection on the panels that take the hits, which is the front bumper, the hood, the mirrors and the leading edge of each fender
  • Self-healing urethane, so light scratches and swirls in the film relax back out when it's warmed by sun or a heat gun
  • Optically clear, so your paint color and gloss come through unchanged instead of sitting under a visible sheen
  • A barrier against brine and de-icing chemicals that would otherwise sit directly against bare clear coat all winter
  • Computer-cut patterns for your exact year, make and model, edge-wrapped so there are no visible film lines and nothing to lift
  • Gloss or satin film options, if you want the protection to change the look of the vehicle as well as protect it

Where Fargo paint takes its chips

Chips do not land evenly around a car. They cluster, and in Fargo they cluster on a handful of known stretches. I-94 between I-29 and 25th Street bogs down through the afternoon peak, and stop-and-go traffic parks you close behind the bumper ahead. Short following distance is short travel time for anything that comes off a tire. The interchange ramps are the other reliable spot, where merging traffic accelerates over surfaces that see heavy truck volume.

Then there is the construction cycle, which in a metro that added roughly ten thousand residents in four years never really stops. NDDOT is rebuilding the I-29 and 40th Avenue North interchange with roundabouts at the ramps, a project driven by how fast development filled in on both sides of the interstate. Work zones mean temporary surfaces and loose aggregate at speed.

Winter supplies the rest of it. Once temperatures drop far enough that brine stops doing much, sand goes down for grip and it stays on the pavement until spring sweeping catches up. Urethane film is the only thing that puts a physical layer between that and your clear coat. A coating will not do it. Most Fargo drivers start with a partial front covering the leading edges, then go full front on the next vehicle once they have looked at that film line on the hood for a year.
