Why Dilworth drivers choose Car Kings for window tint

Dilworth commuters running I-94 and Highway 10 rack up highway gravel exposure — the front-end that PPF is made to shield.

Car Kings is a short hop east of Moorhead, so you get a proper window tint install without a long haul. Every job is quoted to your exact vehicle — you’ll get a fast, free quote before any work begins.

Local note: Dilworth follows Minnesota tint law — we confirm legal shade before installing.

What Dilworth drivers get

  • Cuts cabin heat, so the car isn't a furnace after four hours in a July parking lot
  • Blocks the UV that fades a dash, cracks leather and bleaches upholstery over the years
  • Reduces glare from low winter sun and from sunlight coming off snow-covered fields
  • Adds privacy for whatever is sitting on your back seat at a trailhead or a parking ramp
  • Takes load off your AC, since the system is starting from a cooler cabin
  • Holds glass fragments together if a window is struck, rather than letting them scatter through the cabin
  • Gives the vehicle a clean, uniform shade line across matched glass
  • Nano-ceramic options that don't interfere with GPS, cell or radio signal, unlike the older metallic films

Low sun straight down the Highway 10 corridor

Center Avenue and Highway 10 are the same road through Dilworth. A federal trunk highway serving as the main street of a city of 4,612 people, which the 2023 Metro COG corridor study described as both a mobility asset and a barrier inside the community. Geometry is what matters for glare. The corridor runs close to due east and west, so at either end of the day the sun sits in your lane instead of off to the side. January is the bad month. The sun never climbs high, the fields on both sides hold snow, and the light comes at the windshield twice, once direct and once off the ground.

Heat is the other reason, and it depends on where these vehicles sit all day. Yard work runs around the clock. A car belonging to somebody on days sits out on open ground from before seven until well after three, and nothing on that property throws a shadow wider than a light pole. Same story in the lots strung along Highway 10.

The legal floor is settled. Minn. Stat. 169.71 sets 50% VLT on side and rear windows, with a 3% tolerance, and Minnesota plates mean that is the number we install to. It is a lighter limit than North Dakota's, so darkness is off the table entirely as a heat strategy. What the film is made of becomes the only lever, which is why nano-ceramic gets recommended here.
