Auto Detailing in Dilworth, MN
A proper detail is more than a car wash. We decontaminate the paint, deep-clean every interior surface, and protect what we touch so the finish lasts through salt, sand and sun.

Why Dilworth drivers choose Car Kings for auto detailing
Dilworth commuters running I-94 and Highway 10 rack up highway gravel exposure — the front-end that PPF is made to shield.
Car Kings is a short hop east of Moorhead, so you get a proper auto detailing install without a long haul. Every job is quoted to your exact vehicle — you’ll get a fast, free quote before any work begins.
What Dilworth drivers get
- Hand wash and hand dry using two buckets and pH-neutral soap, so the wash step lifts road salt without stripping the wax, sealant or coating you already paid for
- Clay bar and iron remover on the paint, which pulls out the embedded brake dust and rail dust a wash mitt slides right over
- Hot-water extraction on carpets and upholstery. We flush the salt out of the fibers and pull the water back out with it
- Leather cleaned and then conditioned, because our winter air is dry enough to pull the oils out of a seat and leave it brittle
- Door jambs, sills and the gas cap area done by hand. That is where winter grime actually collects, and it is where most quick services stop
- A recommendation you can decline. If your paint doesn't need correction, we say so at the quote, before you have committed to anything
- A clean foundation for tint, film or coating. Those products bond to decontaminated paint or they don't bond well at all
We inspect the vehicle with you and agree on the package and any add-ons before we start.
Foam pre-soak, hand wash, clay and iron removal so the surface is truly clean.
Interior extraction and dressing; exterior polish or sealant per your package.
We check the work under lighting and hand the vehicle back spotless.
What a working rail yard leaves on your paint
The yard is why the town is here. Northern Pacific bought hundreds of acres east of Fargo in 1906 because the Fargo yards had run out of room, built a roundhouse and a division point, and Dilworth grew up around it. BNSF still runs the place and still lists roughly 375 employees there, more than any other employer in the city. The Staples Subdivision begins at Dilworth and runs 227 miles east to Fridley. Steel is grinding on steel a few blocks from most of the housing in town, every hour of every day.
Grinding sheds iron. Fine metal particles come off wheel and rail, ride the wind, settle on hoods and roofs and trunk lids, then key into the clear coat while they are still hot. Months later they show as rust-colored speckling, worst on white and silver. Wash the panel and they stay. Slide a hand across it and the surface feels like worn sandpaper.
That is a chemistry problem before it is a scrubbing problem. An iron remover dissolves the particles so nothing is being dragged across your finish by a mitt or a clay bar, and mechanical decontamination follows. Wheels and the bottom foot of glass carry the heaviest load. Inside, the yard arrives differently: ballast grit off steel-toe boots, worked into the driver's carpet across a shift rotation, which wants hot extraction rather than a vacuum pass.
How the work is done, what is included and the common questions are all on the main auto detailing page. This page covers what is specific to Dilworth.
