Why West Fargo drivers choose Car Kings for window tint

West Fargo’s newer neighborhoods mean a lot of new vehicles worth protecting from day one — PPF and ceramic before the first winter is the smart play.

Car Kings is about 10 minutes west, so you get a proper window tint install without a long haul. Every job is quoted to your exact vehicle — you’ll get a fast, free quote before any work begins.

What West Fargo drivers get

  • Cuts cabin heat, so the car isn't a furnace after four hours in a July parking lot
  • Blocks the UV that fades a dash, cracks leather and bleaches upholstery over the years
  • Reduces glare from low winter sun and from sunlight coming off snow-covered fields
  • Adds privacy for whatever is sitting on your back seat at a trailhead or a parking ramp
  • Takes load off your AC, since the system is starting from a cooler cabin
  • Holds glass fragments together if a window is struck, rather than letting them scatter through the cabin
  • Gives the vehicle a clean, uniform shade line across matched glass
  • Nano-ceramic options that don't interfere with GPS, cell or radio signal, unlike the older metallic films

Tint for the open west side of town

West Fargo has been growing west onto old cropland faster than anything can grow tall enough to shade it. The newer neighborhoods off Sheyenne Street, the retail around 13th Avenue and the lots at the Lights all share the same look from a parked car: wide asphalt, young trees, nothing overhead. Cabin temperature in a July lot climbs accordingly. The other half of it is glare. On this part of the valley floor the ground west of the city is open field to the horizon, and low sun at either end of the day arrives at an angle a visor does not cover.

The legal numbers for a North Dakota registration are straightforward. North Dakota requires at least 35% VLT on every non-windshield window, and there is no darker rear allowance. The windshield must be at least 70% VLT, with non-reflective film permitted above the AS-1 line. That comes from NDCC 39-21-39, changed by HB 1340 effective August 1, 2025.

A 35% floor across all the glass means darkness is off the table as a heat strategy. Film technology is the only lever left, which is why nano-ceramic gets recommended around here more often than it would in a state that lets you go dark in the back.
