Long rural drives with nowhere to park in the shade
Kindred vehicles cover distance. Twenty-five minutes into the metro if that is the commute, plus field roads, job sites and errands that are never close together out here. Most of that is spent in open country with no buildings and no trees, and whatever you are parked next to at noon is not casting a shadow either.

The legal numbers are fixed for a North Dakota plate. At least 35% VLT on every window other than the windshield, front doors and back glass held to the same limit, with no darker allowance for the rear. The windshield must be at least 70% VLT, and non-reflective film is permitted above the AS-1 line. That is NDCC 39-21-39 as changed by HB 1340, effective August 1, 2025. Since the law caps how dark you can go, what the film is built from is what decides how much heat stays out.
