Why Harwood drivers choose Car Kings for window tint

Harwood’s commuters run I-29 daily — highway speeds and winter salt make protection and regular detailing worth it.

Car Kings is a few minutes north, so you get a proper window tint install without a long haul. Every job is quoted to your exact vehicle — you’ll get a fast, free quote before any work begins.

What Harwood drivers get

  • Cuts cabin heat, so the car isn't a furnace after four hours in a July parking lot
  • Blocks the UV that fades a dash, cracks leather and bleaches upholstery over the years
  • Reduces glare from low winter sun and from sunlight coming off snow-covered fields
  • Adds privacy for whatever is sitting on your back seat at a trailhead or a parking ramp
  • Takes load off your AC, since the system is starting from a cooler cabin
  • Holds glass fragments together if a window is struck, rather than letting them scatter through the cabin
  • Gives the vehicle a clean, uniform shade line across matched glass
  • Nano-ceramic options that don't interfere with GPS, cell or radio signal, unlike the older metallic films

A lot of hours on I-29

The Harwood commute is short in miles and constant in practice. Down I-29 in the morning, back up it at night, five days a week, plus every errand and appointment because none of those are in town either. It adds up to real time in the seat.

That is where tint earns its money. Sun comes through the side glass at a low angle at both ends of the day and sits on your arm and shoulder for the whole drive. Over a few years it fades the dash and the door cards on the sun side, and you notice the difference when you go to sell. In July it is simply about what the cabin feels like when you get in after work.

The legal numbers are fixed for a North Dakota plate. At least 35% VLT on every window other than the windshield, front doors and back glass held to the same limit, with no darker allowance for the rear. The windshield must be at least 70% VLT, and non-reflective film is permitted above the AS-1 line. That is NDCC 39-21-39 as changed by HB 1340, effective August 1, 2025. Since the law caps how dark you can go, what the film is made of decides how much heat actually stays out.
